Where is medicine going?
The future of medicine will be about removing toxins and replacing deficient nutrients. We will treat disease like we do the environment – by using organic, sustainable, whole-systems strategies for establishing equilibrium. We will finally come to recognize that living beings are part of the ecological balance and cannot survive, cannot live vitally, unless they become integral to the ecosystem. I call it Green Medicine. Drugs, which are the petrochemical approach to treating disease, will only be used for emergencies. The foundation of our medical system, primary care, will no longer be about suppressing symptoms, but will emphasize finding the causes of disease and providing natural solutions.
